Romeo and Juliet Final

Dearest Diary,
Where shall such a young women as I begin with my reminiscences. I met a boy tonight at the Capulet party, or shall I say a handsome, charming, young lad. Fie, he hath took my heart and upfilled it with everlasting love and now I drown and melt as his face appears in my mind. As charming as he may be,  he is a Montague and therefore I aught not be with he. Only if our families ne’er fought, I could be with my fair Romeo. Instead they agree to Paris, a man known in the royal family, for I to wed. Nurse, father, and especially mother speak of it and I dos’t  not dare to listen. Mother asked me what I thought of a marriage with he, but I tell her “it is an honor that I dream not of”. For my heart does not go to him, but instead it belongs to Romeo. I stare off into the cool, midnight sky along my balcony awaiting for him to show. But whence will he show, for I miss him so dearly. I do pray to almighty God that he show and again share his loving words, and my virgin ears will listen. I fear what is to happen between us and if father with discover our secret,  but I shant not worry because I am happier than ever.

Juliet Capulet

P.S. His lips hath turned the midnight moon into the daylight sun. My breath he hath took tonight.

Dearest Diary,
Romeo hath finally come to my window to visit me. My it was romantic. I sat upon my balcony awaiting for he after the Capulet party and he swept across the branches of frail and trees of high to see me. But only a man such as he would do such a brave thing. He first awaited in the bushes before he appeared. And when our eyes met, love filled the air and no one else seemed to matter. We discussed amongst many topics relating to our love, specifically our secret wedding. As I said, our families are near on edge of fight and nothing aught secure the hatred, so we must plan an event so secretive that no one shall know besides, Romeo, Nurse, Friar Lawrence, and I. Romeo is going to talk to Friar Lawrence, the “priest” of Verona who hath ne’er sinned before, and ask for a large favor to marry us. I wonder what Friar is going to say about his position such as this for he has two sides to please; the one of Romeo and I who are in love and awaiting for it to be confirmed and the side of our parents who wish not to ever hear of such a thing that we are about to do. Usually I would feel more sympathy towards my family, but this man I do love more than anything and until death do us part. I on the other hand shall talk to Nurse, for she is going to help as well, I hope. I do trust her, more than my mother for that matter and for that she is a mother to me. In fact, mothers would do anything to make their daughter happy right? I sure do hope she pleases me with the response she gives me when I mention the wedding. If things all work out the plan would go as follows, whence Romeo reaches Friar he will send a note to Nurse at home to deliver to me saying the time and place for I to arrive at. From there I shall sneak out and be married to Romeo. We will see how things go for we must it ever so swift and quietly.
Fie what one will do for such strong love. It is ravishing isn’t it? But time and time again do I cry for “my only love sprung from my only hate!” or shall I say Capulet hate. What is the nonsense of this rivalry anyhow? That I will never understand. If only if only blue birds did sing and there would be happiness amongst us all, then Romeo and I wouldn’t have to worry the matter of being caught and scolded for life. My dreary days can go on and on, but the sleepless nights can only last so long. Maybe tonight will be the night that my sleepless nights turn to cheerful morrows.

Love Always,

Juliet Capulet

Oh Dearest Diary,
We hath be wedded! We hath finally be wedded! I am now a mrs. and shall be referred to as one except no one may know how or why! Mrs. Juliet Montague, it sounds so royal and powerful. It is perfect! It is hard for me to believe that such a dream hath come true and the plan hath worked. I always knew Friar was a good man and would do us well. I always knew in the back of my mind that he was a well man. Now everything is settled and awaits our wedding night. My am I nervous but joyed at the same time. I do and so does nurse know what is to come tonight, fie a magical night! I must go get ready for it is not too long until the clock strikes 12. Hurray! Hurray! And after tonight, all that is left is for Romeo and I to be together forever someway somehow.  Seems another plan awaits us! Wish me good luck and fortune.

LoveAlways,
Juliet Capulet

Oh Dearest Diary,
Fore my last entry was upfilled with joy and excitement, but this one is rather not. I ball and cry because he has been banished! Banished! Oh he is banished! He got in a fight of swords with Tybalt, my beloved cousin, and hath killed him or so they think. I am overwhelmed and don’t know what to think of such a thing. I morn of the fact that my dear cousin has died a severe bloody death, yet I morn of the man that killed my cousin and whom I love because I shall not see him any longer. I was cheering with hurray on mid day when plans were set in stone, but now I am worried and heartbroken that the plan of tonight hath changed path. I sure do hope that another plan is made for Romeo to come back mid night to see I and to fall in love all over again. I pray to thee, I pray to thee, almighty god, let me be with the one love of mine tonight and for the rest of eternity.

I will write soon,
 Juliet Capulet

Dear Diary,
My oh my has the night been a whirlwind. First I am happy, then shocked and surprised, and now I am overjoyed. We made yet another plan to get Romeo to my balcony again for our wedding night. It must have been with the help of fate that this worked and for the placement of the stars. It was a very time oriented and restricted plan but it worked. I musn’t talk of what happened for it is a secret between he and I but I must admit that the time we had together was one I will never forget. But he is still banished and that not can I bare. Seeing him more and more makes it harder and harder not to be with he. Yet another plan in the process for I to be with him forever and that is what keeps my hopes and dreams high.

The Four Year Journey

Yes I am almost in high school
I feel mature
I feel powerful
I feel like I have accomplished something
And no one can stop me

All the talk about how high school is the best 4 years of your life
All the dances
Events
Sports
Parties
It sounds like a blast

Oh no I am almost in high school
I am nervous
I am worried
I am scared of what is to come
And there is no way to figure it out

All the talk about the amount of homework and exams
All the tests
Drama
Fights
Mistakes
It sounds petrifying

Things in life come and go
Some are better than others
And there seems to be two sides to everything
Which makes us hold back from succeeding
But what's the point of holding back

We are all people
We mess up
We do stupid things
Instead of hiding in misery behind it, live up to it
Learn from what you did and change
For the sake of yourself

The school part of high school is intimidating
All of the work and pressure
The Independence part of high school is exhilarating
All the fun opportunities available
The attitude part of high school is nerve racking
Afraid of what people will think of you
Afraid of being labeled the first day you walk through those doors.

All the advice of your parents have given you
Be yourself
Do your best
Make good choices
Have fun
All of these tips will become useful for high school
Make the best out of your high school years
And don’t let anything or anyone get in your way
Of you achieving your goals.

Living in the Moment

The strength of the blazing sun is too overwhelming for my fragile body and sensitive skin to handle, but the rush of the cool breeze takes away the feeling of smoldering hot air against my face for just one second, and then it is gone in an instant. You could say that nothing could get any better than a living a life with the feeling of nothing left on your shoulders, but yet the feeling of having something to worry and think about is truly better. Why do I feel like nothing could go wrong? In a fantasy land like this one? There is nothing special about it. Maybe it is because it is something new, different, unique to what I experience every day, or maybe not.  It is warm and happy in this fantasy land, but where I am now it seems depressing and saddened with grey skies and chilled air. Although that sun was like boiling water on a stove making me want something cold to relieve the heat against my skin, when I face reality all I want is that sun again. Everything in life comes to an end at one point or another, I hate to say. This thought scares us all, but it is a fact of life and it has to happen no matter if it is the ending of life, a trip, or school.  You just have to live everything that you experience to the fullest. It will come to an end. You may or may not know when, but it will. An experience that you enjoyed should be something that you will never forget, and I know I will not forget this experience to the beautiful land of Naples, Florida.

Color Against the Dark

In the novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon, a young boy named Christopher is a boy with rules that don’t seem to make sense about how to live life. I think Haddon is trying to relate Christopher to us when we were younger. The concept of innocence lays right out in front of you when you read this book. Christopher, with his disablility of autism, is just trying to make as much out of his time as he can. Many of us still wish we could be like Christopher and have the freedom to think in the ways he does; never lie, know everything in the world, base our days on colors. He doesn't worry about growing up and all of the "what if's", but instead he is derected to a different view of life; things that are not as obvious to us. This young boy never has a bad day. Is it we who decide to have our bad days, or is it others? It is our own decision; we choose who we are. Christopher--just a young boy--knows that life should always be filled with color and not even a speck of darkness belongs.

Soul Searching for Forgiveness

Author's Note - This is a response to The Power and the Glory.

Judas--one of the twelve apostles of Jesus in the New Testament and best known for his role in betraying Jesus into the hands of Jewish religious authorities--is much like the mestizo in the novel, The Power and the Glory. The irony is that although he means the priest nothing but harm, he actually provides prospects for the priest to commend heroic and gallant acts.

An illness falls upon the mestizo the first time the priest and him meet. The priest makes a small sacrifice for mestizo and refuses to leave him. Put on a mule and sent toward a town, mestizo knows that death surrounds him, but has faith in the priest to comfort him with health and hospitality along the way. When the mestizo reaches the other side of the border, the trap he has set becomes an opportunity for the priest to turn away from the life of leisure, and recommit himself to his ideals and his duties. During his night in the hut with the mestizo, the priest has trouble keeping himself awake, recalling the night Jesus spends in the garden with the disciples who cannot seem to keep themselves awake. The mestizo, with a never ending desire of selfish devotion, asks the captured priest to pray for him. The priest then begins to tell him that forgiveness just isn't handed to you, but instead it must be earned.

In order to find forgiveness of your sins true soul-searching will lead your way. You need to find yourself first and understand that the sins you have committed were wrong and have some reason to why they should be forgiven. The mestizo is, in many ways, a mirror image of the priest. The priest--who has done this soul-searching-- despairs over having no listeners to hear his confession. But, while the priest attempts to root out all self-interested motivations from his mind, the mestizo is concerned only with his own advantage. Nevertheless, the priest's actions towards the mestizo make the mestizo a seem like a sympathetic character. Since the characters are carefully emphasized to have the free will to decide their own paths in life, their decisions on what paths they take will lead them to the amount of power and glory they get in life.

The Power of Love

Authors Note: This is a response to a quote from the novel, The Bean Trees, about a girl named Taylor who is given the gift of a beautiful child, Turtle, but Taylor doesn't know how to undergo the customs and actions of a mother. Will she learn to love Turtle and not let her fears hold her back?

"The whole Tucson Valley lay in front of us, resting in its cradle of mountains. The sloped desert plain that lay between us and the city was like a palm stretched out for a fortuneteller to read, with its mounds and hillocks, its life lines and heart lines of dry stream beds." (chapter 12)This is during the time of the first rain, when Mattie takes her young friends into the desert so they can see the natural world come to life. This quotation, typical of Kingsolver’s descriptions of the natural landscape, shows her consciousness of the environment. It also shows Kingsolver’s use of unusual metaphors. The land embodies a life lived from birth to death. Taylor falls in love with the Arizona land and sky, and her appreciation for nature in all its forms, with all its surprises.

While Taylor falls in love with the long lost land of Arizona, she is falling in love with Turtle as well. Realizing the beauty of mother nature makes her understand that a child is a gift, understanding that Turtle is a gift. The land describes Turtle and Taylor's relationship from the start. When Kingsolver says, "The whole Tucson Valley lay in front of us, resting in its cradle of mountains. The sloped desert plain that lay between us and the city…" it is showing there are so many more experiences and adventures and so much time to grow and love, but there is this barrier holding Taylor back from wanting do venture and explore a new world, a life style of a mother. It seems as though she is scared and her fears are holding her back.. You cant let your fears defeat you, you have to defeat your fears. When Taylor saw how wide and beautiful the world was she also realized that there are so many opportunities. When this opportunity to have Turtle in her life forever she didn’t want to miss out. She took advantage of the opportunity and made it the best experience because she looked passed her fears and realized there was more to life than hiding behind yourself.

Author's note: This is a poem about the novel, The Bean Trees, where a girl is confronted with a child named Turtle, and she grows to care and love for turtle. This poem has to do with teenagers and their choices with any situation.

Learning, Growing, Experiencing

Why do we act with such a sense of uninterest?
Like we don’t care or understand what is being said.
We only think of ourselves and ideas that we create.

Trouble is just another word.
It highly defines the average teenager.
What we put ourselves into .
But for a reason nobody can understand.
For a reason that I can’t understand myself.

This seven letter word has no significant meaning behind it.
So why do we portray ourselves to it?
The good out of it is more harmful than the dismay.

Our lives are not fair as teenagers.
Our parents are the rule makes of our lives.
Our thoughts may impact on our perspectives of fairness.
But what it comes down to is
The fine line your parents make between right and wrong.

Listening without words is often the best thing to do.
Understand the other side of the story before you make a decision.
Decisions are a part of life no matter how hard they are.

We as humans are very opinionated people.
We don’t react well when others prove our statements to be incorrect.
This is what causes trouble in our lives.
Learning to open up is self evident in the learning process of life.

That is what we as teenagers are doing.
Learning
Growing
Experiencing
We all make mistakes, but it’s just the matter of learning how to except
that.

Trouble
No need for more trouble
It’s just another seven letter word
With no significant meaning behind it
